The Low Maintenance Alternative to Wood Oils & Other Treatments
Cetol Marine finishes are translucent, durable wood finishes for interior and exterior use above the waterline. They penetrate the wood to provide long-term water repellence and protection from weather, water damage, and ultraviolet rays. Specially formulated to be flexibile, they are resistant to impact damage, and won't crack as the wood expands and contracts. Cetol finishes are also micro-porous, so moisture which might otherwise cause blistering and flaking can escape harmlessly, right through the finish. With the exception of Natural Teak, Cetol finishes obtain their characteristic, warm appearance via the addition of transparent synthetic iron oxide pigments which shield the wood from UV rays.

Cetol Marine is the original translucent satin Cetol finish with its characteristic warm, orange-tinted amber color. It is formulated to ensure optimum visibility of the underlying wood grain, while offering the superior ease of application and maintenance that have made it such a popular product.
Cetol Marine Light is identical to Cetol Marine, but is formulated with different pigments and a light dispersion agent to produce a lighter, amber appearance. Although similar looking to Cetol at first, Cetol Light retains its original amber color and won't darken over several seasons like the original Cetol
Cetol Marine Natural Teak is a durable, translucent, satin finish with a golden color, similar to a traditional varnish. It incorporates a colorless, long lasting UV-absorbing package. For best results, we recommend applying to bare wood, rather than overcoating a (darker) base coat of Cetol or Cetol Light.
Cetol Marine Gloss is a durable, clear, gloss protective exterior wood treatment used as a topcoat for other Cetol products. It produces a tough, easier to clean surface with enhanced UV protection and anti-weathering properties. As it produces a very slick surface, it is not recommended for use on decks. |
