Prevents Damage to Your Windlass When Riding at Anchor, and When Setting or Breaking Out the Anchor

Chain stoppers are used to prevent damage to your windlass drive shaft caused by excessive loading. Mounted in front of the windlass, they are engineered to withstand the heavy shock loads imposed by waves when riding at anchor, and the strain of setting or breaking out the anchor. They are also recommended for rope and chain rodes to hold the chain while changing over from rope to chain on VC Model (non-deck pipe) vertical windlasses. It is recommended to use a chain stopper or snubber in conjunction with all windlass systems utilizing a chain rode. Made of highly polished chrome plated bronze.
